Itinerary [May. 25th, 2007|05:52 am]
[mood |nostalgicnostalgic]

So you all know that Im going on a trip to Washington, right. Youre all wondering, "What will Jessie be doing while she's in the great state of Washington?" Well ponder no further!

Go go gadget Itinerary!!!

***Warning: This Itinerary is geared towards sight seeing,
as most going with me have never been to Washington.***

Sunday- Arrivial at 5:30 am on 7-29. Drive to mothers
place in the rental car. Catch up on sleep and/or
chill. 11am (or when rested) head
out to Seattle. Hit the Seattle Center/Space Needle
and have lunch at the food court or nearby resteraunt.
Pikes Place market run through for snack, fruits, art, ect.
Head back to mums around 6-7ish or earlier. Since this is
actually my Birthday as well I thought that itd be
neat to have a BBQ at my mothers place. We can pick up
the fixing from the store on the way back if she
doesnt provide. It might be neat if my aunt & cousins
came over, but I dont know if theyll be around or not.

Monday- Head out early to the Olympic Peninsula. Take a
ferry there and stop for lunch at one of the  Parks. Check
out Olympic National Parks Visitor Center
in Port Angeles when we drive through. It looks like
the rain forest that you can drive to is called Hoh
Rain Forest
. (no jokes) So if we want to head out
there, we could make the trip to Forks check out
Rialto Beach and drive up to Hoh. Ending this day in
Sol Duc. Cabin is rented there and the Hot Springs are
the trophy at the end of this adventure.

Tuesday- Sol Duc provides us with breakfast as part of
our package. Leave after breakfast and head back
towards Seattle. Visit the Experienced Music Project
(EMP) and have a late lunch in Seattle. Suggested
eating: the Brooklynn.

Wednesday- Depending on the weather we are either
going to Leavenworth or Mount Rainier. We want the
nicer weather for Mount Rainier.

Thursday- Depending on the weather we are either going
to Leavenworth or Mount Rainier. We want the nicer
weather for Mount Rainier.

Friday- Free day. We are probably going to do local
stuff, like see Snoqualmie Falls or go through the
back roads near Mount Si.

Saturday- Leaving at 5pm, we havent figured out
exactly what we are doing during this day.

[mood |nervousnervous]

So a 'me' update:

I was out of work for a good three months that I miss already. I started my new job with a different part of Chase this last monday. Im in training for two weeks then I hit the call center. Im pretty nervous, this being my first call center job. But I seem to be remembering the material pretty well...though I think Im going to need to beef up my numerical. Even if they dont time our calls.

Ive been broke as hell for a while and there are so many bills piled up its not even funny. Im going to have to go 'extreme budget' in order to dole out money for bills, clothes/shoes for work, food and saving for washington. I think if I put 150$$ towards vacation, 50 for food, and the rest on bills spending the remainder on clothes I could have 1500 saved for the trip...I hope thats enough. They want to rent a car too and I think the plane tickets alone will be about 500. Im starting to wonder if this trip is in the cards right now. *sigh*

Vacation!!! [May. 16th, 2007|06:49 am]
[mood |relaxedrelaxed]

Its official, sometime between july 29 and aug 10th Im visiting washington. AND this time I actually get to drag some friends from Chicago there with me.

I wish they were hiking and camping type people though. Thats what I like doing when I go back to good ol' washington. Oh well. Surprisingly they are open for renting ATVs and hitting up the ATV parks....which I suppose is better than not hitting parks at all.

Im slightly worried I may not have enough money saved up though. B is still not working so bills and such are all falling on me. Cross your fingers for me though. I really want to go.

Especially since it would put me there on my birthday. Its funny, I was thinking of all these different places Id like to go to dinner on my B-Day and all I can really think about is Red Robin. They dont have them out here and Id LOVE to have one of those teriaki burgers they make that have a big slice of pineapple on it. mmmmmm pineapple...

Anywho, if you didnt check it out earlier, I have a newish journal that I update a little more than this one. Its at www.myspace.com/jessiesnowspace. Dont mind the sappy country music if youre a hater.

300 (((WARNING SPOILERS)) [Mar. 10th, 2007|05:19 am]
[mood |groggygroggy]

So I saw '300' (the movie) last night. Unfortunately it wasnt as good as that hilarious review that I read. Nor as good as the previews led me to believe. But, that said, it was still a good movie.

Problems:
1) The review said that the hunchback looked like he had rosie o'donnel on his shoulder....His hunch was big, but not even remotely human shaped. I was looking forward to a rosie o'donnel joke in the movie, but there was non.

2) Theres just as much slow motion in the movie that is in the preview. I remember making the statement while watching the movie that "If I was in slow motion all the time, I could kick as too!"

3) SPOILER WARNING!!!!!!!!
Why in the nine hells did Xerxis wait around a year for the greeks to amas an army before he tried to conquer them again? After he slew the 300 guys there shouldnt have been that much resistance and he could have washed across the land with his million soldiers. But no...he waits around a year for the Greeks (including the spartans) to amass a few million soldiers of their own.

4) Lots of people had problems with the over dramatic one liners in the movie. I, however, liked these. I felt that if you are going to have a narrator who sounds like he's just reading the comic book to you while you watch it in live action, you have to have the dirrect dialog from the comic or it will feel like the two are coming from two different worlds. But...with that said, I dont think that I liked the narration/comic book feel. I would have rather if they had taken the story from the comic but made it a movie...In my opinion it was a little too high pased and there wasnt a lot of character development for more than three or four characters. I really didnt care when they died. Of course Im pitting the movies against movies like 'Musa the Warrior' for its high character amounts vrs character development. And Im sorry but it looks like Musa took the medal on that one.

Would I recommend people to see this movie in the theatre? Yes, deffinately. You will like it more on the big screne than at home. If you dont like action movies, dont see it.

the 'A-Men Break' & the LAW [Feb. 27th, 2007|12:54 pm]
[mood |hopefulhopeful]

Recently Ive been listening to talk radio stations. Its adicting I tell you! Its reinvoked my love of learning and seriously sparked my need for more . Anywho, so I shared this on my myspace page, but thought some people in the LJ world might find it interesting too. If you have a mild interest in music, or just have 17 minutes and 54 seconds to dedicate to listening Id suggest you listening to this. This is radio broadcast I heard on NPR chicago edition. Its from about four years ago when strict copyright laws were being put into effect.

If you do not have an interest in music, or are just plain 'too busy' then let me sum it up with my favorite quote from it:

"Overprotecting intellectual property is as harmful as underprotecting it. Creativity is impossible without a rich public domain. Nothing today, likely nothing since we tamed fire, is genuinely new: Culture, like science and technology, grows by accretion, each new creator building on the works of those who came before. Overprotection stifles the very creative forces it's supposed to nurture."      -Judge Alex Kozinski

I heard this song for the first time this morning. Choked me up a little bit. Its very pretty and hit a lot of soft spots.

"Though i'm young and cynical
That's not my only crime
I've been stealing all your cigarettes
To save another dime
In case you haven't noticed i just gave them all away

Tell me what do you think of me now
That i've traded all my armor for a crown
Come on what do you do with me now
That i've taken down the mirror on the wall
And the sweet rain is ready to fall
Giving it up for you

Well i take a lot of medicine
I don't really need
I was drinking at eleven
Getting high at seventeen
So now i don't appreciate the taste of expensive bitter wine

Tell me what do you think of me now
That i've traded all my armor for a crown
Come on what do you do with me now
That i've taken down the mirror on the wall
And the sweet rain is ready to fall
Giving it up for you

Take your aim like artemis
And kill another dove
But when your heart becomes a hunter
You may wound your chance to love "

[mood |sicksick]

Ive been sick now almost a week. I dont have to go into ultra description about my symptoms but I can easly say this is my worst cold yet. Work has been impossible so Ive just been resting it up. However, now Ive run out of sick days. Yesterday was officially my first day back from being sick...of course technically Im still sick. Atleast I no longer have a fever though.

Christmas pretty much sucked, but only because I was sick. I got the normal knicky knacks from my family and an MP3 player.
